As many times as Sheila visited us in Scotland, my memory of her is best summed up in the fact that she introduced me to the 12 step programme, which became a big part of my life and SAVED my life of which I am very grateful to Sheila for………..Today, the programme is still part of my being and my soul’s journey…………..and happy memories of her as part of my life. I wrote this poem for Sheila…………
GO LIGHTLY
GO LIGHTLY, AMIDST THIS LIFE, THE BEAUTY AND THE PAIN,
SUCH WONDER I SAW IN YOUR EYES, BEYOND THIS WORLD OF SORROW AND STRAIN.
GO LIGHTLY, AMIDST THIS LIFE, SHARING AND CARING AS WE DID.
GO LIGHTLY, WHAT JOY YOU BROUGHT TO ME REFLECTED IN YOUR EYES.
GO LIGHTLY WAS YOUR MESSAGE,
GO LIGHTLY AMIDST THIS LIFE
TAKE ME WITH YOU, WHEREVER YOU GO………
LOOK DEEPLY, BE PEACE.
I WAITED FOR YOU,
FOR I AM,
GO LIGHTLY AND BEYOND
